Dutch ISO Data Analysis Centre - DIDAC
The Dutch
ISO
Data Analysis Centre - DIDAC - is one of the
data centres
to provide access to ISO data products and expertise
on reducing those data.
Its goal is to provide the astronomical communities a centre
of excellence for exploring ISO data.
In this context, the responsibilities of the DIDAC are to
- Improve the calibration of the ISO instruments (specifically SWS)
- Help describe the behaviour of the ISO instruments
- Develop new and improve existing data-reduction techniques
- Share knowledge and expertise with the astonomical communities
- Support the astonomical communities in the processing of ISO data
To achieve this DIDAC is working together with experts at the various
ISO data-centres
around the world.
The DIDAC is sponsored
by a number of institutes in The Netherlands and Belgium.
A steering committee
has been formed to define the overall concept of DIDAC and verify
that DIDAC fulfills the defined goals.
DIDAC is hosted by the Space Research Organisation Netherlands
(SRON) in Groningen.
SRON was the PI institute of the
SWS
instrument which was built in collaboration with
the Max Planck Institut für extraterrestrische Physik in Germany and
the Institute of Astronomy of the K.U. Leuven in Belgium.
